Senior Account Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to lead the delivery of integrated marketing and communications campaigns across major sports, mass participation and lifestyle events – primarily in the UAE, with some work in Qatar and KSA.

This role sits within the Events Division and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, rollout and execution of multi-channel campaigns from strategy development through to event-time delivery and post-event reporting.

The successful candidate will act as a key client lead across assigned projects - driving timelines, managing stakeholders, coordinating internal teams and external suppliers, and ensuring campaigns are delivered to the highest standard. The role requires a strong understanding of event marketing, campaign management, social media, PR, content production and operational coordination within a fast-paced agency environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management

  • Develop overarching marketing and communications strategies and implementation plans for major sports, mass participation and lifestyle events
  • Lead the day-to-day rollout and management of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Leverage event, sponsor, stakeholder and partner-owned assets to maximise campaign reach and effectiveness
  • Develop outreach and engagement plans targeting national federations, clubs, communities and participants to drive registrations and engagement

Client and Stakeholder Management

  • Day-to-day point of contact for clients, organizing committees and stakeholders (including international federations and event IP owners)
  • Lead client meetings and calls, including agenda preparation, status updates and contact reports
  • Compile regular campaign rollout updates and status reports for clients and organising committees
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on campaign performance against approved KPIs during and post-event

Creative & Content Management

  • Work closely with internal creative and production teams to develop campaign creative aligned with event positioning and objectives
  • Oversee the rollout and adaptation of key visuals across digital, print, OOH, broadcast, social media, eDMs, press collateral and sponsor assets
  • Manage the development of athlete guides, fan guides and event-related marketing collateral
  • Brief, manage and oversee photographers, videographers and content teams pre-event and on-site during event delivery
  • Ensure all creative outputs are delivered on time and in line with brand guidelines and stakeholder approvals

Social Media & Digital Communications

  • Develop integrated social media strategies aligned with overall event objectives
  • Lead the regionalisation of event messaging and content to ensure relevance across key audiences
  • Oversee and/or manage dual-language content planning and rollout across all relevant social media platforms
  • Work with the internal Community Management team to ensure timely, culturally relevant and brand-aligned audience engagement across all channels
  • Drive proactive community growth initiatives through engagement with key accounts
  • Oversee CRM strategy and the development, rollout and performance tracking of eDM campaigns
  • Develop social media toolkits for sponsors, partners etc.
  • Monitor campaign performance, audience sentiment and digital engagement trends

PR, Influencers & Media Buying

  • Manage the briefing, contracting and output of internal PR teams, external PR agencies and freelancers, media buying agencies and media partners
  • Coordinate campaign activity across PR, advertising and media channels in line with the approved communications strategy
  • Ensure monitoring and reporting systems are in place across PR and paid media activity
  • Support the planning and management of crisis communications alongside relevant agencies and stakeholders
  • Lead the planning and management of influencer and ambassador campaigns
  • Oversee media accreditation and the delivery and management of event media centres

Budget & Reporting Management

  • Manage event marketing budgets, including tracking costs, supplier management and reconciliation
  • Support post-event financial wrap-up and reporting processes
  • Deliver weekly, monthly and post-event campaign reporting and performance analysis
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Events, Business or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in account management, event marketing or integrated communications
  • Experience working within an agency, international sports federation, rights holder or LOC in a marcomms role
  • Experience working across sports or lifestyle events
  • Strong understanding of integrwated marketing, social media and campaign management
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple stakeholders, and internal/external teams
